If you suffer from wisdom teeth problems of any description you may need wisdom teeth extraction in the Bay Area. Many young adults do indeed suffer with their wisdom teeth, but equally many people tend to ignore the problem in the hope that it will go away. Our oral surgeon, Dr. Alex Rabinovich, is an expert in wisdom teeth extraction.
Unfortunately that is not the answer. If you are suffering pain or discomfort with your wisdom teeth it is almost certainly the case that you need wisdom teeth extraction in the Bay Area. If you leave it in the hope that it will get better it can cause you serious – and expensive – problems later on in life.
Ignoring Problems Does Not Constitute Wisdom
Strangely enough, wisdom teeth are so called because they usually grow at between the ages of 17 and 21 by which time you are considered old enough to have gained some wisdom. However, ignoring any problems certainly doesn’t come under the heading of wisdom. Working with one of San Francisco’s top oral surgeons for wisdom teeth extraction DOES constitute as wisdom, however. 😉
There are a number of problems that can be caused by wisdom teeth. They can begin to grow at the wrong angle or facing the wrong way. There may not be enough room in your mouth to accommodate them so they fail to break through your gums. They may break through your gums but only come part of the way because there is not enough room: this can cause a flap of tissue to grow over the teeth which can then trap food and cause gum infections.
Wisdom teeth may also be so far back in your mouth that it is difficult or impossible to clean around them properly, again leading to gum infections.
How To Know If You Have Wisdom Teeth Problems
How do you know if you need wisdom teeth extraction in the Bay Area? If you are suffering pain or discomfort from a tooth rubbing against your tongue or cheek, or the top or bottom of your mouth, that is indicative of a problem. You may have a gum infection, or you may have pain or stiffness in your jaw. There may also be crowding of your other teeth.

Your wisdom teeth are similar to your appendix in that they are something that has become unnecessary over a period of several thousand years of human development. In the case of many people they never cause a problem, but if they do you should have them extracted.
